Carolina Beach

My last weekend in North Carolina we went to The Carolina Beach.

It was about two hours from our apartment. All the colors of the buildings were so pretty!

I felt like we were in California but on the other side of the country. 

The atlantic ocean water is so warm! I was surprised about that.

We played in the water most of the time and after we went to Mcalister's Deli for lunch!

Happiest 24th of July

The 24th is Pioneer Day in Utah and I'm so happy we celebrate it!
we pretty much get two fourth of July's!
I spent it with my family at our family friends house for a bbq, smores, and fireworks.

Exploring downtown

I took these pictures when Brock's family was in town!

We showed them downtown durham and the Bulls stadium

where we went to a baseball game when we first moved here

and we looked at some fun shops.

I really like the downtown vibe here.

It goes from being kinda scary, ghetto to just like a smaller version of 

a really big city and its cute and different! I hope before we move home 

we get to spend some more time down there.

The Cupcake Bar

Today we went downtown to return some library books
and stopped by The Cupcake Bar for a treat!
The place was decorated so cute! and the cupcakes were delicious.
I had chocolate peanut butter, Whit had peaches and cream, and Alyssa had red velvet.
and since it was monday we all got a mini cupcake to go with them.

Tobacco Museum

We went to the Tobacco Museum the last week Brock's family was in town.
Durham is where the Duke family founded and distributed tobacco.
I learned that Duke University is named after the family because they
donated millions of dollars to the university and health care. 

We visited the Museum and then the Homestead where their house
and factories are still in tact. 
It was so cool to see all the old things in the house and factories!

Happy NC Fourth of July

This year was mine and Brock's 2nd Fourth of July together.

We started dating the month after July in 2011

this makes the only holiday that wont be our third one together!

Last year we spent it at his uncles with his family and this

year we were in North Carolina! 

its kinda fun to see how much changes in one year.

We went and played tennis early that morning with his 

family, and then we went swimming in downtown durham.

His parents made a yummy BBQ for everyone and then

we did some fireworks outside of our apartments.

We were so happy his parents came and stayed with us.

They took such good care of us and we made some 

amazing memories I will never forget.

Uncle Jims Part ||

Uncle Jim's house reminded me of a country victorian theme.
I loved all of his furniture and his china.
He has the prettiest bowls, chairs, and crystal.
I sneaked a couple pictures through out his house haha
Me and Whitney wanted to take everything home with us!
My favorite room was the dining and sitting room.
