Uncle Jim's

Brocks Uncle Jim lives in Alexandria Virginia

and his home is beautiful! his deck is so pretty I had

to snap some pics for the blog.

We stayed with Uncle Jim for the weekend while we 

visited Washington DC. He lives about twenty minutes away.

Jade Alexa's Debut

The other day Whit and I were sitting at her apartment talking about

how she still has all of her clips from Jades birth and she hadn't

made a video yet because she needed another set of eyes. 

I offered to do it because I had been making little movies around North Carolina.

Its not at all professional or anything but it did make me and Whit cry. 

We think it turned out pretty good! I can't believe that is Jade, she is growing up

so much! They waited until she was delivering to find out the sex of the baby and

they were so surprised. 

Duke Garden Picnic Sunday

Sunday we headed over to the Duke Gardens for a picnic with 
everyone. Whit made yummy chicken salad sandwiches and pasta salad
and I cut up some watermelon. Alyssa made some yummy snicker doodles.
I put together a little video of the day! I almost like making little movies
more than taking pics its so fun to look back and remember the fun day!

Saturday Night

Tonight we went and seen World War Z
I don't know how I keep getting dragged to these end of the world
movies that really convince me the world is going to end
and make me panic! haha! I guess anything to spend time with my man.
At least I got popcorn mmmm

Locopops + Duke Gardens

Yesterday we went to Locopops they sell the best homemade Popsicles!
I got a cookies and cream one and it had whole Oreo cookies in it!
its our new fav summer spot! after that we went to the Duke Gardens
it is the most beautiful place! it smells so strongly of roses and they have every
kind of plant/flower you can think of! it was surrounded by fire flies.
There is a big open spot where everyone was throwing Frisbees and having picnics
and a few ponds with ducks and fish. Jade especially loved the ducks.
I love hanging out with Whit and Jade its so exciting seeing Jade experience things
for her first time it makes me feel like its my first time again. We love Jade so much.

Nifty Thrifty

Yesterday we went thrifting at Goodwill and at the Durham Rescue Thrift Shop!
they both were pretty busy and had pretty cool stuff!
I bought that yellow mug for 49 cents and they had the prettiest vintage plates
and crystals. We really need more places like these in St. George 
there is thrift stores every where in North Carolina.

Fishing on Sunday

On Sunday we had a big breakfast with some of the boys Brock works with
and we had some missionaries over who ate with us and shared a thought.
After we walked over to the pond by our apartment and fished with everyone!
there were so many turtles in the water and fireflies flying around.
I had never seen fireflies before! I made a little video of our adventure below check it out :)

Friday Night, Movie Night

Last Night we went to the movie The Purge.
It wasn't as good as we all thought it was going to be.
It rained all day yesterday so the boys didn't get to go to work!
There were flash flood and tornado warnings all day! I have
never experienced rain like that. We stayed in most of the day 
and I cooked a new recipe I learned on Pinterest.
I love mac and cheese and buffalo wings so together in a casserole 
that's heaven!

Thrifting

Yesterday we went thrifting around North Carolina.
We went to a place called Encore Boutique and Pennies for Change
one was clothes and the other was furniture it was so much fun!
After we went to a frozen yogurt place called Tutti Fruties.
